Verla was added to The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO's world heritage list in 1996. This old paper factory and industrial village represents the past lifestyle of the Finnish woodworkers in the 19th century.

Verla sits beside Repovesi National Park, some 160 kilometres from Greater Helsinki metropolitan area. Here you can combine a day outdoors with a visit to this historically important site.
